Morning! #WBW2012 is almost over, tapi di Indonesia
bln agustus adlh bln ASI :)) busui, let's support each other more
For me, being a
feminist IS being a lactivist, supporting a woman's right to breastfeed her baby...yes, it's her choice!
But the choice
whether/not to breastfeed her
baby shud be made on the basis of an informed decision, it must be an educated
choice.
It's a woman's
right to receive breastfeeding education
& support, it's her right to be informed on the risks of formula feeding.
Her decision, her
choice, will ultimately affect another human being, not just herself...help her
to make the right choice.
Countless
researches have shown breastfeeding benefits both mother &
child, formula feeding largely benefits the company.
If feminism is
interpreted as celebrating & empowering yourself as a woman, how much more
empowering is growing & nurturing another human being?
"breastfeeding may not seem the best choice
for all mothers, but it's the best choice for all babies".
So make ur choice, but make sure
it's an INFORMED one, based on facts, not on uberhyped profit-oriented
commercial advertising.
...and no,
forcing a mother to breastfeed or
making her feel guilty into breastfeeding is NOT part of being a lactivist.
breastfeeding improves the quality of life
for a woman, read the facts! Given the choice to be healthy or sick, which
would we choose?
So don't shoot
the messenger just coz you can't handle the facts...read up! Get educated! Then
talk about choice.
Sekian twit saya
about my choice to be a lactivist J yuk, sebarkan edukASI &
dukungan ASI utk perempuan Indonesia ,
salam ASI!
